Our Story

MEGAN CAPLETTE- RED SEAL BAKER

Baking is my truest passion, decorating cakes for my loved ones to celebrate every milestone only grew my love for the art. As a young child, baking was something my family did together and recipes have been passed down for generations. When I graduated high school there was only one path that I wanted to take and so I choose to go to NAIT and earn my Baking and Pastry Arts Diploma.

During my time at NAIT I participated in many extracurricular activities including; NAITSA Senate, Team NAIT, as well as being President of the 2020 Bakers Club. Graduating with honours, my next step was to earn my Red Seal. I worked my way up to supervisor at a small gluten free bakery, completing my hours and studying to finish my Red Seal in Baking. My time at the gluten free bakery taught me how to accommodate many food intolerances and allergies.

After an opportunity fell through I was left looking for my next job. Thats when my friends and family encouraged me to start my own business, something I'd talked about doing since I was in high school but it was never the "right time." In October of 2023 Sweet Dreams Bakery brought my sweetest dream to life. 

Sweet Dream Bakery has attended the south common farmers market and the Leduc golf club artisan Christmas market, and I plan to visit more in the future. Since then Sweet Dreams Bakery has continued to grow thanks to your support.
